Drewton Woods Cross Country
It was a great turnout for the second in the East Yorkshire Cross Country series held at Drewton Woods just outside South Cave. It was drizzly but mild...and the hills were definitely a challenge...but everyone had a great time. Follow this link for pics at the start. Follow this link for pics from midway and follow this link for pics from the end. The great ones are with many thanks to Emily Bourne and the average ones are thanks to Howard Cross. Guy Fawkes 10
Just look at that blue sky! It was cold but a beautiful day and, in spite of the big hills, it was a fantastic run. Well attended by Pock Runners (just a few to the right), follow this link for more photos from the Guy Fawkes 10 miles thanks to Howard and another runner who happened to be parked nearby and had a camera thrust at him. The Palma Half Marathon
A good time was had by all (even though there was only one runner because of injury) at the Palma Half Marathon. In toasty warm conditions, Alan Kendra completed a brilliant run...and luckily for the spectators, didn't run in the budgie smugglers.

Drew Wins the Knavesmire 10k
(but only in his dreams)
It was another fine turnout by Pock Runners for one of the most arduous races in the Summer League. Three and a bit laps of the racecourse on a humid evening was pretty hard work but, as ever, the team did Pocklington proud. Follow this link for fantastic pics by Emily Bourne. London Marathon Results
A HUGE well done to all the runners who took part in the London Marathon. It wasn't the easiest run with very hot temperatures, and there were a few injuries along the way. But everyone should be really proud of themselves.
And a special well done to Daz...who elected to join the budgie smuggling club and run with nothing but the support of his lovely wife Helen.

Follow this link for info on this year's marathon runners
The uptake on one of the ultimate challenges for a runner - the marathon - is pretty high this year with Pocklington Runners, so featured here are the those who are taking part in marathons in the early part of 2011. From beginners to runners who've been doing marathons for years, you can find out who's doing what and who's going the extra mile by raising funds for some very worthy charities. Follow this link or click on the image to find out more...and if you wish to donate to one of the charities listed, your assistance would be very much appreciated by both charity and runner.
