Just when you were expecting it to be grey, raining and grim...out comes the sun and what could have been a good day turns into a great day. It was muddy, of course, but that's all part of the fun... and there were photographers out in force, including Howard Cross and Clive Jeffery. So thanks to them for the fab pics at the start and at the Givendale section. If anyone would like good quality copies of any of the images, just email sarah@pockrunners.com with the number of the image(s) you'd like. Race 4 Life - York, Sunday 6 July

A massive well done to a group of ladies from Pock Runners who endured monsoon conditions on York's Knavesmire Racecourse on Sunday 6 July to run in the Race For Life. Incredibly well done to Kath and Maz (pictured right before the race), Little  Rachael, Faye, Adele and Bethany and Rachael. We'd take our hats off to you all, if it wasn't raining outside! New Junior Runner Megan Whitelock (pictured right inset) ran with her mum and said that she really enjoyed it, but that it was very wet and muddy.

Runners at the Brass Monkey Half Marathon

It's come round to that time of year when you're fed up and don't know what to do with yourself....Christmas and the New Year celebrations are over and all you have to look forward to is trying to squeeze yourself into your work clothes......which are probably way too small now because of all the eating and drinking you've done. If that's you and you don't know what the answer is? Don't panic! We do!

It's simple.....just get your running shoes on and shed those few extra pounds by going round to the Rugby Club on Burnby Lane at about 6.30 on Wednesday nights and get back in shape with some new friends. If you want to find out more, contact us or just turn up....

Want to join Pock Runners?

If you're interested in coming along and seeing what it's like, it doesn't matter if you're the next Paula Radcliffe or a bit of a plodder.... Everyone's welcome no matter what ability. Just come along to one of our Wednesday night training sessions. They're informal and fun.

Training Sessions

Pock Runners meet every Wednesday at Pocklington Rugby Club on Burnby Lane. If you're interested in coming along, just turn up at around 6.30 with a view to running at 6.45. During the Winter, the route is around the town but during the Summer months, there are a variety of routes and distances to run, including a run at Thixendale the first Wednesday of every month.
