York And District Road Race League
Bishop Wilton - 17 June 2008
Race report by Howard Cross

The fourth race in the series at Bishop Wilton was an important stage for Pocklington Runners. A tough evening was in store if the club was to retain its domination of this year s competition.
The most difficult race of the competition, because of the small undulation at the beginning of the race, saw all the Pock runners turn up and run their hearts out. Some excellent efforts made it a super night for the club.
Tom Danby again showing true grit and determination lead the field around in first place making it four out of four in 35:03. Dennis Speck made it look simple in third place in 36:45. Ed Rawlings, Paul Tatterton, Helen Cross, all made it under the forty minute mark, keeping the score cards on the side of Pocklington Runners.
Fantastic efforts from Kev Norman , Jim Holding , Richard Ginn , Stephen Worth , Mike Siddall, Patrick Piggott, Alan Kendra, Steven Burn, Howard Cross and Clive Jeffery all making it around the tough course in under forty five minutes. An extra special well done to Steven Worth who was five minutes faster than last year on this course.
Paul Holmes, Jill Dowson, Clive Reid, Marcus Bourne and Alison Thornton all rose to the occasion in well under the fifty minute mark. Brian Perkins, Sue Vicary, Jackie Robinson and Fay Jessop all did really well in less than fifty five minutes.
Charlie Hope and Dan Kitchen did the club proud ducking under the sixty minute mark. And very well done and congratulations to Jackie Robinson for maintaining second place in the Female 55 vet category.
Bishop Wilton remains the hardest course in my opinion. All of our runners who stood up to be counted on the night, played a part in making the race another dominating success for the club.
Pocklington Runners stand to claim first position in Open Team, Open male, and male vet 50 categories, a fantastic achievement. Whilst second in the female vet, third in the female open and fourth in the vet 45 cat all remarkable personal efforts.
Well done to all, and lets all have fun at the fastest course of them all at Selby!
Good luck.
