Escrick 10k 2008
Race report by Howard Cross

31 August 2008

After a pretty baron month as far as race reports and road races go, August came and went without a great deal to report. But alas the end of the month saw the club clearly making headway amongst the frontrunners in the first ever Escrick 10k.

The race was run through the tracks and bridleways of the beautiful Escrick Park Estate between York and Selby and was won by Steven O'Neil of Harrogate in 34:03 minutes. Not far behind, Denis Speck raced around the multi terrain course in fourth place overall in a good pre-Berlin marathon training time of 36:23.

Simon Richardson, using the race as preparation for his Cologne Marathon training, bobbed around in 38:00 minutes and Paul Tatterton managed to make the third Pock Runner in the top ten with 38:13.

Helen Cross settled for second on the day in the ladies race, with a very well run 38:45 and Sue Vicary was the final Pocklington Runner to cross the line in 55 minute. A very good effort from all.
