Name: Jim Cadwallender
How long have you been running? – 18 Months
Three facts about Jim:
I’ve been in rock bands pretty much since I was 16 up until a few years ago.
These days, as well as running, I am 1st Pocklington Cubs’ Akela.
I sleepwalk. One time I fell off a house roof after climbing out of a velux window. Ouch!
I once woke up in a cell in Prague with no recollection of how I got there (No crime had been committed) – it’s a long story. Bloody Absinthe! 😂
What made you start running? An existential crises.
Biggest running achievement? Having already run two marathons. Firstly Manchester, just 11 months after starting running, in 3:37:37, and then smashing that time at last month’s Yorkshire marathon with a 3:28:15. Next up: London 😊
Running goal: To keep getting faster before I get slower. Also looking forward to my first Ultra-marathon next March.
Running Tips: Read ‘The Art of RUNNING FASTER’ by Goater and Melvin. It improved my running really quickly. Also, if you put in the miles and push yourself you will reap the rewards.
Trainers: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 18
If you didn’t run what would you do: I’m not really sure now. Probably cry 😢
Best thing about being a Pock Runner: The support and cameraderi. It’s a wonderful club and I don’t get down there nearly enough!
