Name: Mike Pullon

How long have you been running?
Since 2002. First race – Beverley 10K 2003 in 48.03. First multiple race year was 2006.

Three facts about Mike:
1. I’m allergic to cinnamon

2.Lost almost a year of running when I tripped over a cat and tumbled down stairs and turned an ankle

3.Did Not Start the Humber Bridge 10k once because I turned my ankle coming out of a portaloo

What made you start running?
I needed to get fit – see photo of pre running me

Biggest running achievement?
Running 3 10K PBs in a row over a week in May 2009. On the 3rd at Kirbymoorside 41.56, on the 4th at Rothwell in 41.35 and on the 10th at Beverley in 41.10
After a couple of injury and illness ravaged years getting back to fitness to run the 2018 Brass Monkey Half in 1.29.42 (which gave me my first 80+ WAVA)

Running goal:
Now that PBs are a few years behind me to run times that improve my WAVA performance

Running Tip:
When your body needs a rest let it have one (taken me a long time to realise this)

Trainers:
Just switched to Altra Escalante zero drop / wide toe box trainers

If you didn’t run what would you do?
I would be a grudging cyclist

The best thing about being a Pocklington Runner:
Having the support of other runners when things are not going so well and being able to support club members as they chase their goals
